This is an ActiveX component that can add features that provide encryption/decryption and other copyright protection means to PDF documents.
PDF Security ActiveX Component lets you make a PDF document encrypted or decrypt an already encrypted one. It is able to use either the 40 bit or the 128 bit encryption algorithms. The tool also lets you manage the measures against copyright violation by means of restricting copying, printing, editing etc. All it takes is one function call to get the encryption and the protections done on a file. There is no other software or components to be installed for successful operation of the component. You do not need the Adobe acrobat reader either for correct operation of the same. The encryption enables protection of documents through passwords, you are able to implement both user and owner passwords for your documents.
The integration is easy and consists of some function calls really speaking. It will be able to detect if a file is encrypted or not. being an ActiveX component can be integrated with programming languages that support this technology. These include Visual C++, Visual Basic, Delphi, C++ Builder, .Net languages, Java, Scripts like Perl, Php, Python. A lot of examples in VB, ASP, VB Script, C#, VB.Net and ASP.Net are provided. You can integrate the functionality on web based applications too as it is .NET ready. This is a component that provides a functionality that is required quite often. But then, at $149.95 this may not be quite cheap.
